Indigenous Selections

We like wines that tell a story – that tell you from where they come, their experiences, where they have been and, just as importantly, where they are going.  Each wine imported by Indigenous Selections has its own unique story that unfolds as it is poured into a glass. Founded in 2006 by winemaker Giorgio Rivetti, Indigenous Selections represents a collection of hand-selected wineries crafting the finest and most authentic representations of what Italy has to offer. Having a winemaker at the company helm allows us to truly understand, and therefore be able to narrate, the stories of each of the products we represent. Our portfolio includes wines from Piedmont, Tuscany, Veneto, Campania, Sicily and Friuli and is completed by a selection of Indigenous label wines, each of which has been hand-selected by Giorgio Rivetti to offer an interesting and authentic Italian wine experience.

Through communicating daily with the IS team, we were the pen, and they were the artist. From topography, colors, images, and structural layout, we were able to collaborate and produce a fantastic end result.

Indigenous Selections has a robust data structure that includes wine, vintages, distribution, as well as press. We worked with their team, offering guidance as to how to best compile the data from PDFs and other sources into spreadsheets that we could us to build the underlying database. Using only Elementor and Advanced Custom Fields, we were able to then, cleanly create custom post type relationships without hard-coding.

Using WordPress, advanced custom fields, and Elementor, we were able to develop the entire website cleanly, with very few plugins. Our favorite page on the website is "Wine Details". We feel that it is the top achievement due to the amount of collaborative effort that went into compiling data as well as writing conditional logic. These pages will allow wine consumers as well as stores, see detailed information about individual SKUs easily on mobile and PC.

After a thorough content analysis, we created a smooth user experience by making sure all related content is linked together. The relationship between elements allows users to quickly and easily find content and discover other relevant information.

With over 30 distributors across the usa, the client needed an attractive and interactive solution that will quickly allow the user to find the information that they are looking for. We also created a simplified list version for the mobile experience.
